"Sin Fins" is a book I made from a Design and Visual Communications course, where the idea was to take any object and digitize it to create an icon. From my wine bottle opener, there was a prompt to create many iterations that met criteria such as allusion, warping, and metaphor. After this, it was revealed that the items would become a book that we would create based on an existing story or of our own creation. I found the premise of this story online about Dionysus, the Greek god of wine, and his travels. Dionysus encounters pirates which try to capture him and he turns them into dolphins to spare them from drowning. From these sins, their fins were created as a reminder of their actions.
Sin Fins Book
A book design from a Design and Visual Communications course, where the idea was to take a random object and digitize it to create an icon. From this icon I chose (wine bottle opener), there was a prompt to create many iterations and modifications that met criteria such as allusion, warping, metaphor, etc. From this it was revealed that the items would make up the imagery in a book that we would storyboard and create on our own based on a currently existing story or one of our own design. This book was a story that I found online relating to Dionysus the Greek god of wine and his travels.
